Do you still remember the hit song Jai Ho from the movie Slumdog Millionaire? The song has a very catchy tune, and the lyrics is very poetic. (I just knew the english translation yesterday). The movie Slumdog Millionaire also is something worth watching!
Slumdog Millionaire is a 2008 British film directed by Danny Boyle, written by Simon Beaufoy, and co-directed in India by Loveleen Tandan.[2] It is an adaptation of the novel Q & A (2005) by Indian author and diplomat Vikas Swarup. Set and filmed in India, the film tells the story of a young man from the slums of Mumbai who appears on the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (Kaun Banega Crorepati in the Hindi version) and exceeds people’s expectations, thereby arousing the suspicions of the game show host and of law enforcement officials.

And here’s the song..
Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho
Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee
Aaja Aaja Jind Shamiyane Ke Tale
Come come below the decorated tent of life
Aaja Jariwale Nile Aasman Ke Tale
Come below blue sky decorated with ‘jari’ threads
Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho
Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee
Jai Ho.., Jai Ho.., Jai Ho.., Jai Ho..
Victory to thee.., Victory to thee.., Victory to thee.., Victory to thee..
Ratti Ratti Sachi Maine Jaan Gavayi Hai
Slowly Slowly Really I lost my life
Nach Nach Koylo Pe Raat Bitayi Hai
Spent my nights dancing on coal
Akhiyon Ki Neend Maine Phoonko Se Uda Di
I blew the sleep in my eyes with air from my mouth
Neele Tare Se Maine Ungli Jalayi Hai
I burned my finger with blue star
Chakh Le, Ha Chakh Le, Ye Raat Shahad Hai.. Chakh Le
Taste it, yes taste it, this night is honey, taste it
Rakh Le, Ha Dil Hai, Dil Aakhri Had Hai.. Rakh Le
Keep it, yes this is heart, heart is last limit.. Keep it
Kala Kala Kajal Tera Koi Kala Jadoo Hai Na
(your) Black Black eyeliner – is it your black magic?
Kala Kala Kajal Tera Koi Kala Jadoo Hai Na
(your) Black Black eyeliner – is it your black magic?
Aaja Aaja Jind Shamiyane Ke Tale
Come come below the decorated tent of life
Aaja Jariwale Nile Aasman Ke Tale, Jai Ho, Jai Ho
Come below blue sky decorated with ‘jari’ threads
Jai Ho.., Jai Ho.., Jai Ho.., Jai Ho..
Victory to thee.., Victory to thee.., Victory to thee.., Victory to thee..
Kab Se, Ha Kab Se Tu Lab Pe Ruki Hai.. Kab De
Since when, yes since when, you have stopped at my lips.. since when
Kab De, Ha Kab De Ab Aankh Jhuki Hai.. Kab De
Since when, yes since when, (your) eyes are closed.. since when
Aisi Aisi Roshan Aankhe Roshan Dono Bhi Hai Hai Kya
Like this, Like this, lightening eyes, making both lightened, yes, yes, what?
Aaja Aaja Jind Shamiyane Ke Tale
Come come below the decorated tent of life
Aaja Jariwale Nile Aasman Ke Tale, Jai Ho, Jai Ho
Come below blue sky decorated with ‘jari’ threads
Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho
Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee
Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho
Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee

After a spate of films like Aamir, Mumbai Meri Jaan and A Wednesday, comes Shoot ‘On’ Sight…. This Jag Mundhra film dwells on the blasts of 2005 and the killing of Jean Charles De Menezes in the London tube. However, Mundhra tries to establish a connect by making his innocent victim an Asian Muslim Baqir Hassan (Avtar Kaul).
A slow but gripping film, Shoot On Sight focuses on the turbulent life of Commander Tariq Ali (the charismatic Naseeruddin Shah), a Muslim police officer at Scotland Yard. Ali is born in Pakistan, married to an English woman (Greta Scacchi), with two kids.
Anyway, the film sees Commander Tariq Ali heading the investigation team after a suspected terrorist, Baqir, gets killed by a police officer on the tube platform.
Of course, the more Ali investigates, the clearer it becomes that Baqir was shot without valid reason, and soon the racial and communal discrimination that led to Baqir’s death seeps into Ali’s life. Meanwhile, Zaheer, Ali’s nephew (Mikaal Zulfiqar from Pakistan) comes to live with Ali and his family. The plot becomes more complicated when photos of Tariq meeting a childhood friend from Lahore, who happens to be an extremist Imam (Om Puri), end up in the newspaper.
PERFORMANCES:
The story unfolds in a less didactic manner but soon changes gear. The Imam’s preaching on jihad and what is right or wrong sound too clichéd. Om Puri as the Imam has done a good job but his character is no different from the fundamentalist Imams in Mahesh Bhatt’s Dhoka or the Pakistani film Khuda Ke Liye. In spite of his stature, Naseer’s role had nothing new to offer, but the actor definitely looks sharp and perfectly suits the role of an investigating officer.
Two more characters that deserve a mention are Laila Rouass as Ali’s assistant and Gulshan Grover as Ali’s friend. Both have given convincing performances in their own ways.
The MOTIVE
By trying to convey that law-abiding Muslims don’t want to be identified with Islamic terrorists and violent radicals, the film manages to touch a chord to a large extent.
The FLAWS:
A few questions are left unanswered in the film. Points like how could Naseeruddin, who was out of commission, get a gun and how did he shoot Zaheer without orders from his seniors leave one bewildered for a while. Tariq becomes a hero overnight after the climax… even gets a promotion, while he ought to have been in the lockup. Or do we have to take it as cinematic liberties?
The plot has too many coincidences. Occasionally, some interesting, timely messages about racial profiling come up, but none of these issues are explored meaningfully or sensitively. The film has too many poorly written dramatic scenes that drag on.
Shoot on Sight somehow has the feel of a small screen drama, which could run over two three episodes a la CID or Special Squad. Viewed on the silver screen, it looks a bit too shoddy and unimpressive.
VERDICT: Shoot On Sight would have done well in India, had it released before Dhoka, Aamir or A Wednesday.
I love watching movies. Always have, for as long as I remember. I can watch any movie and enjoy it except for the ghost movies and some stupid superhero flicks.
When I was growing up in the late eighties and early nineties, Bollywood was probably going through its worst phase. The super heroes of Hindi cinema were getting older and to hold on to their careers they were starring in senseless potboilers peppered with mind-numbing action and stupid songs with pathetic dance sequences.
But I loved them. Growing up in a small town called Mughal Sarai near Varanasi, that was all you got those days. Cable television had yet to arrive so the two standalone cinema halls in the town were the only places of entertainment.
But even that was an occasional event. For, a 12-year-old kid wouldn’t be allowed to go for a movie alone or even with friends, you had to go with someone older than you. For me and my brother our uncle, who was twice my age, used to be our only hope.
Provided, he was in the mood to tag us along for a movie. And that happened only perhaps once in two or three months. So we had no option but to for the Sunday evening movies on Doordarshan even though they played old flicks from the sixties and seventies.
The most exciting parts of course were the action sequences that unfortunately came only in the last 20 mins when the hero would beat the villain to pulp and police would come only to say “you’re under arrest” to the villain who was by then half dead.
Slowly word started spreading that there was something called cable TV and if you got connection you could see as many movies as you like. I was told that there were channels that showed only movies throughout the day. And you even had English movie channels that showed movies of Hollywood stars you had only heard or read about.
Wow! That sounded so cool. Names like Stallone, Bruce Lee and Schwarzenegger (Arnold’s name I had heard for the first time from a friend who was bragging about having seen a movie called Terminator in Calcutta. But he couldn’t catch the last name and called him ‘Swizenberger’ ) were filtering in through the grapevine. We couldn’t wait to get the cable connection.
But my parents obviously did not share our excitement. “Cable TV? Your board exams are only six months away,” my mother said, effectively putting an end to the conversation. However, there was a silver lining when after days of pleading she said, “Let your exams get over and if you score well, then we’ll see.”
That was enough motivation to take to studies with a religious zeal. Months passed, exams came and went, I did well despite many odds (a story for another time).
Then came the day we got our cable connection. A dream was fulfilled. Now I could see as many movies as I liked. But alas the Hollywood action flicks I used to dream about were not being shown. I checked the listings in the newspapers everyday and both Hindi & English channels were churning out duds (by my standards because they were not action flicks).
Finally after a few weeks I caught my first Bruce Lee film — “Enter the Dragon”. And my idea of an action film changed forever. Now all the punches of an ageing Dharmendra or Mithun Chakraborty couldn’t hold my attention. I had seen Lee in action.
Then one after the other came Rambo, Terminator, 36 Chambers of Shaolin the list was endless. Some I caught on TV some and on video cassettes (by then the only video shop in town was beginning to stock Hollywood flicks).
Years passed and I graduated to watching serious cinema both in Indian languages and world movies, but even now I feel as excited watching the reruns of those fantastic action flicks that blew me away from watching the tame stuff dished out by Bollywood.
I was watching one of my favourite movies today ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’. I think I first saw the film in Bhopal at the EME center officer’s mess there. Most of my early exposure to Western cinema was in the army or at the Gymkhana clubs at the open air theaters. The officer’s mess had a huge collection of all the army and war films. All the ‘Navarone’ films. Dirty Dozens and Nazis and the Japanese and anything with planes. Of course there were all the real Westerns where I got introduced to all the Clint Eastwood films and guns and the American outback.
I remember seeing ‘Top Gun’ in Udhampur at the EME workshop there. A fresh NDA brat suggested it to me. I never saw the air show the same again. That was the time I saw ‘Air America’ and some obscure war films that I have not been able to find again. There was even a healthy collection of patriotic Bollywood films from Manoj Kumar Classics to some modern day films.
When the sergent tells Mayo ‘Get into your fatigues Mayo, by the end of this weekend I will have your DOR’ I cannot wait to watch the following scene.
Today I make films myself and it’s amazing how one goes from watching films to making them. My alternate realities.
I am looking for a producer who ‘gets’ my vision and I get closer everyday. It’s been a rather interesting few weeks trying to explain my vision to people here in Hyderabad. Sometimes I feel they undrstand everything and just don’t want to take a chance and sometimes I feel they have no clue what the hell I am talking about.
When you are a clearing for a film, you want to fill it so badly and yet, you have to hold the space to get it done the right way. It takes so much patience and positivity to do that. That is where I spend so much energy. To keep myself as a clearing.

A refreshing and unpretentious film that throws cynicism out of the window and supplants it with some much needed idealism.Ranbir is brilliant in his well nuanced performance that does away with the carefully cultivated ’star’ look of his previous films.
As Harpreet Singh Bedi,Ranbir is probably the first non-stereotypical presentaion of a sardar in Hindi films….he is not the joker of the film, nor a bhangra dancing buffoon, nor a Pak defeating soldier…..he is just a regular young lad of urban India out to make his mark in his first job as a computer salesman .He does not wear loud sherwani’s,does not twirl his moustache endlessly and within the first 10 mins you even stop noticing he is a Sikh. Finally a Punjabi/sardar boy minus the ‘balley balley’ and ‘hadippa’ quotient…and it works.
Gauhar Khan as the office receptionist is well cast and gives a good performance but the thunder is stolen mostly by the computer engineer Giri(D.Santosh) and Cup-plate (Mukesh Bhatt). The only disappointment is the ‘new introduction’ Shazan Padamsee but that hardly matters as romance is incidental to the movie and treated with a casual, fresh approach totally missing from the usual Bollywood flick.
The casting is spot on and the Shimit’s eye for detail impressive. Its a movie which tells an ordinary story in a down to earth manner. The second half is slow but this is anyway not a movie where some great secret has to be revealed at the end so one remains in one’s seat without keeling over with boredom. Those in similar office situations and those who have one up the ladder after surviving the mayhem of an Indian office will find a lot to identify with.
The film may not appeal to all sections of the audience but should touch a chord with young, aspiring and struggling urban India. So go and watch Harpreet Singh Bedi as he struggles to meet his sales targets while trying to hold on to his innate honesty and value system.
Chirunavvutho was a Telugu movie in 2001. This movie was directed by Vijay Bhaskar. This movie was a fabulous hit not because of hero not because director. Only writer Trivikram Srinivas is the man behind the movie success.
He has penned good story line with perfect script. Punch dialogues which comes only from his pen are the added advantage. Hero Venu Thottempudi has acted according to the story lines and Trivikram’s dialogues.
Ace comedian Sunil has attracted the audience notice with this movie only. Prakash Raj has appeared in one his best. Prema played a key role.
Movie came with low profile. Audio was also not a big success. Only hopes because same team worked for the movie Swayamvaram which was super duper hit in 1999. but movie has bagged huge success.
Akshay Kumar seems to be having a whole lot of fun underwater, with his latest film Blue.So what is he doing under the sea? Well, he is romancing a haseena with much more than just kaatil adayein– why? because it is a shark that he has fallen in love with.
“Aadmi apne aap se bhaag sakta hai apni kismat se nahi”, says the latest promo of Blue, where Akshay Kumar is seen surrounded by gam of sharks, dodging them under water, reason enough to bite nails.
Akki, Sanju and Katrina starrer Blue is being vouched as the first under water action thriller of Bollywood. Directed by Anthony D’Souza, the film boasts of an outstanding star cast of Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, Zayed Khan, Katrina Kaif and Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue, who apart from singing is in a smoking hot number with Akki.
Based on the story of three friends who are involved in an under water treasure hunt, the men are seen flaunting their pliant bodies, women are squirming in water with their lethal bodies. The multi-million project, shot in the Bahamas, Phuket, Bangkok and Mumbai had Akki, Sanju and Zyed shooting with real sharks while filming their stunts. In one such sequence, Akshay accidentally hit against the metal of a sunken ship while shooting. But before sharks could come following the smell of his blood, he was safely pulled out of water.
Inspired from Hollywood flicks like Jaws and The Deep, no stone has been left unturned to give an international feel to this movie. While the actors got special training for undersea diving, Blue also boasts of a song sequence with the whole cast under water. Hollywood technician Nickolette Skarlatos and Clarabelle Saldanha have given an international look to Lara Dutta which is very similar to that of Megan Fox. With music from maestro AR Rahman, Blue is definitely worth-a-watch this Diwali.
Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh flaunted six-pack abs, but Shahid Kapoor is doing two better — he will show off eight-pack abs in his forthcoming film “Chance Pe Dance”.
Trainer Abbas Ali said they managed to achieve the new look in a very short time for
“Chance Pe Dance”, directed by Ken Ghosh.
“Shahid had to look cosmetically presentable. After ‘Kaminey’ we had only two months in hand to change his complete look. It’s Shahid’s sheer hard work, dedication and consistency that transformed him from what he used to look a couple of years ago to his present look,” Abbas told IANS.
“His body in ‘Chance Pe Dance’ is better than all his previous films. Shahid told me that dancers are coming from abroad and he wants to look like god and move like god. I had to change the entire training to bring that look along with flexibility and muscle endurance which was required for his dance performance,” he said.
Shahid first started working on his body for Vishal Bharadwaj’s “Kaminey” as he had to run with horses in a scene.
“Shahid didn’t have a muscular body. I was training him only for fitness. Shahid didn’t want a picture perfect body in ‘Kaminey’ because the film shows that he comes from street and doesn’t workout in high-tech gym,” said Abbas.
For “Chance Pe Dance” Shahid needed a sculpted body and practiced five days a week. He also had to work on his diet.
“Shahid is a vegetarian and he doesn’t even takes egg so first class protein, which is required to build lean muscle, was not there. White carbohydrate was removed from his diet, like white potatoes and pasta. We added brown carbohydrate like brown rice, sweet potato, oats instead.
“We didn’t go for low carbohydrates because if you go for low carbohydrates your performance level goes down in real life. He has to dance so we couldn’t go for low carbohydrates.”
“Chance Pe Dance”, in which Shahid plays a struggling actor opposite Genelia D’Souza, is set for a Jan 15 release.
OOOoooo..my god….m sooo waiting for dis oone..yet another feast for my eyes afta DBH!!:-p!!
Himesh Reshammiya induces extreme reactions in people. He started out as a singer known for his nasal tone and the cap and going oooooooo into the mike like a wolf baying at the moon. Then came the movies. Aap Ka Suroor received a decent response while Karzzzz just made the audience groan.
Undeterred by the boos, the man has five movies in his kitty of which Radio will release this weekend. He gets to play loverboy to two lovely ladies, Sonal Sehgal and Shenaz Treasurywala.

Lyrics of Alisha Song
Boy
Hey boy you are the hunk with the trunk
Backing in the funny loaded funky junk
Hey boy we are the braines no wifes??
So tell me some beautiful lies
I’ve been looking for a boy
Jisse dekh ke din se kaali raat ho
I’ve been looking for a boy
Jiski baat mein sirf meri baat ho
Koi aisa ho koi waisa ho
Kisi ek mein ho baat phir kahan
O baby sach to hai main kahan tu kahan
Alisha jab se tujhko hai jaana
Dil ne kaha na maana
Sach to hai tu kahan main kahan
Alisha jab se tujhko hai jaana
Dil ne kaha na maana
Sach to hai tu kahan main kahan

When it come entertainers Dharma productions never disappointed us. Many movies deals with terrorism came in Bollywood in past few years. But I will say majority are half baked or love stories. What make kurbaan different from rest of the movies of similar genre is, probably this is the first Bollywood (or Indian) movie which dealt with Global terrorism and other thing is rather than others of similar genre, the story progress with the point of view of terrorists (not portraying them as either baddies or goodies, just express there emotions and psyche) as well as moderate peoples and also movie portrays pain of helpless spectator who lost his loved one in one of the attack. The movie concentrates on its core theme rather than distracting sub plots and songs.
Plot
Avantika, a lecture at a university in Delhi fall in love with Ehsaan a professor from similar university and soon they get married and relocate to New York. But soon they find out that things are not cool as it seems and no one can be trusted. I don’t want to tell anything further and spoil the fun of watching a thriller
My take
A good story with style and substance is rare thing in Bollywood. Kurbaan is one of those kinds. It has a tight script and fast paced screenplay. The performances of lead actors are commendable .I have never seen Kiron Kher in such a powerful role. Never thought Vivek Oberoi knows anything other than over acting But he is too good in this movie. Cinematography and Background score is excellent. I’m sure this movie will take Indian movie to next level. Guess we have got another Abbas-Mustaan. Kudos to Rensil D’Silva and his team. Really smart one. Yeah Some Love Stories have Blood on them.
Scene to watch out: A bullet wound surgery, climax
Pros: Screen play, climax, back ground score, art direction and cinematography, saif-Kareena chemistry, fewer songs (but good ones), no item numbers. Cons: First half an hour (a bit drag), Too hot for kids (don’t take kids with you for this movie), not for masses.
# 1 on the ‘Soon 2 B Extinct Species’ – Marathi Manoos – championed by the aptly titled SS and its progeny – the MNS
Both these Sena’s have lots of time. And hate. They also possess lots of petrol, stones, hockey sticks etc. They take me back in time to the Bollywood of the glorious 80’s. But let me not digress.
This MM is frailer than your old grandmother, grandmother, orphan, handicapped who is abandoned, on the road, doesn’t have work or relatives or social support – who begs on the streets, at numerous crossings, tapping on your air-conditioned, frost-bitten rolled-up windows of your XYZ sedan.
The MM can die of hurt caused by talk of all kinds – ‘I like India’ and bingo they lose a tooth…er you lose it.
If you say ‘I love India’ then entire gene structures of the MM mutate. They vibrate at higher speeds than the 2 particles traveling in the ever – crashing Large Hadron Collider.
‘I like Mughlai’ say you? That could possibly be the last words out of your treacherous mouth.
‘I like a Nude’ and and…forget about it.
MM in fact has come as a savior to the entire women species of India. No longer are women considered the weaker of the species. MM has been categorized as the weakest of the lot. And it is reliably learnt that the SS and the MNS are proud wearers of his badge of honour. They in fact want this exalted status to be made permanent so that benefits can accrue to their scared lot.
Meanwhile Indian women groups are busy putting aside their differences and sending a delegation to Bombay to congratulate both the SS and the MNS for giving the final shove in the centuries old struggle.
They are however only worried about 1 thing – giving up the reserved seats on BEST buses to the Marathi Manoos.
MM can’t compete with the illiterate Bhaiyya coming from UP and Bihar. MM cannot get jobs also when competing with some of the literates coming out of the said backward provinces.
In additional news, which is already being confirmed as unadulterated speculation or rumor, the Big Boss evictee motor-mouth KRK has launched his next film called ‘Marathi Manhoos’ to whip up frenzy, polarize his audience and earn money right on the table. He says he has learnt the art of polarizing from the SS and MNS.
Kajol who is lucky partner of Shahrukh Khan has paired once again opposite him for the movie My Name Is Khan. My Name Is Khan is ready to hit the screens by February 2010. Karan Johar is confident about this movie, he is thinking that, this movie will break all the records in Bollywood.
Kajol has spoken recently about this movie. She said that, like the previous movies Like DDLJ, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai which featured SRK and Kajol, this movie also becomes a Block Buster hit. She refused to speak much about her character, but has shown lot of excitement while speaking about this movie.

As a college student he studied commerce, however he always had an inclination towards a more creative & artistic field. After formal training to the J.D. Institute of Fashion Designing, after which he got a job as a designer at departmental store, ROOPAM. After gaining the experience and the technical expertise, he decided to enter the film industry.
Akshay Kumar was the first artist he designed for. He was Rocky’s launch pad in BOLLYWOOD. To keep up with his orders he set up a small-scale manufacturing unit. Keeping all interests in mind he took up a few artists & interacted with them. Now he designs for Hrithik, Amisha & Aftab. Media being a very effective form of communication, particularly films, definitely has a strong influence in the world of fashion.

It seems all effects of Sultan Rahi not dented by single bullet and Ametab being able to successfully destroy whole Island of villain has a proper name, it is called Principal of Evil Marksmanship. Wikipedia explains and details it very nicely.
The term first appeared in film critic Roger Ebert’s 1980 book “Little Movie Glossary”,[1] and had been submitted by Jim Murphy of New York. It was defined as:
“
The bad guys are always lousy shots in the movies. Three villains with Uzis will go after the hero, spraying thousands of rounds which miss him, after which he picks them off with a handgun.
”
So finally I know the name of the art being followed by our film heroes (yes I still call it film, Guardian does it too). Although Hollywood is also pron to it (that’s why they have name for it ) but somehow their films execute same idea quite gracefully. I remember a scene in which Sultan Rahi and her female accomplice were avoiding bullets by just bending down quickly. Not once but again and again.
Other interesting terms on the same page are Stormtrooper Effect and One-at-a-time Attack Rule. Last one is most interesting because you see it all the time in movies. Shahrukh Khan, Ametabh, Dharmendar and even Jackie Chen, they all fight one to one, now they have progressed to 2 at a time. 3 people attacking at same time is rarity. And why the hell only one person in whole gang has the gun, and all the guys are fighting to get it; if you remember last scene of Don (original version).
Here are the big numbers the big boys (and gals) quote in Bollywood.
Aishwarya Rai, the Queen Bee, takes home 6 crores.
Priyanka Chopra pockets 5 crores.
It is a close competition for Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. while Kapoor makes 3.5 crores, Kaif is at 3 crores.
Among the menfolk, Akshay Kumar is King despite back to back flops in 2009. He gets a whopping 15 crores per movie.
Aamir Khan’s price is now 13 to 14 crores.
Surprisingly, Shahrukh Khan is getting just 12 crores. Surprising because he cashed in on his star status more than any other guy, save Amitabh Bachchan.
Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna aspires to be a moving drama about marital fidelity, but it lacks the emotional maturity to achieve its goal.
The movie focuses on the troubled marriage of Australian residents Samir (Salman Khan) and Raina Khanna (Kareena Kapoor). Samir, who is depressed because he can’t find a job, distances himself from Raina, who’s worried on his behalf. He decides that his only option is to leave Melbourne and try his luck in Singapore.
Raina is sad about leaving her friends and her job as a waitress, but she goes to the airport with her husband. There, he springs the news on her that she won’t be joining him in Singapore. Instead, she’s going to live with his disapproving parents in Delhi. The movie never explains why this is necessary; the decision only serves to prove that Samir is controlling.
Raina decides not to board the flight to Delhi. A waiter at an airport cafe, Akash (Sohail Khan), helps her start her new, solo life in Melbourne. Raina declares that she’s just killing time until Samir makes his fortune and returns for her, but Akash falls for her anyway.
Here, Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna takes an audacious turn: nothing unexpected happens. There are no twists, no moments where a character makes a life-changing decision. Samir succeeds and returns for Raina, and she goes with him. That’s it.
I don’t feel bad revealing those plot details because the movie is very clear about what is going to happen. Raina never — not even for an instant — expresses the slightest romantic interest in Akash. She doesn’t even realize he has a crush on her. If she did, it would force her consider him as a sexual partner, thereby destroying the image of the ideal woman that Raina is supposed to represent: somewhat independent but unquestionably devoted to her husband.
The characters lack depth not just from the way they’re written, but also from the way they are acted. When Akash reveals the pain he felt when his parents divorced, Raina responds with an inappropriate smile.
Debutant writer and director Prem Soni has a lot to learn. (Lesson #1: Why comic barnyard sound effects have no place in a relationship drama.) This first effort is a bland movie full of emotional simpletons. I fear that, if Soni wrote an adaptation of The Little Mermaid, the story would read like this: “A mermaid wanted to become a human, so she did. The End.”
So I’m currently answering an application question that is giving me quite a bit of grief, it goes a little something like this;
1: The first impression that a brand makes is crucial.
Tell us a bit about yourself and make your first impression.
200 words max.
Seems fun.
The difficulty is making yourself interesting enough that the reader wants to find out more about you and more importantly make yourself stand out from everyone else who has probably also travelled a lot/also really likes playing the piano/loves playing sport to be part of a team etcetera… So at the moment this is proving difficult.
In terms of thinking about a person as a brand, beyond celebrities and famous figures is that really possible? I guess we can brand ourselves to an extent by the content we put up on social media, but then not everyone uses the internet for that. We can brand ourselves by conducting ourselves in a certain way; being “nice” and getting a reputation for that or going out getting drunk a lot and getting a reputation for that.
To an extent people certainly have an easier time of relaunching/reinventing their brand than products. I was reading today that Kylie Minogue has now relaunched herself in Bollywood. Her brand has now ranged from the cute girl next door in Neighbours, to absolute sexpot to now a Bollywood starlet.
This is great rebranding, the woman is (or more likely has someone who is) a commercial genius. It is a great fit, Bollywood is nothing but cheesey really. Ironically I get the feeling that Bollywood is trying to reinvent the brand itself by using Kylie. If you can’t see the irony check out the great lyrics from her new song.
After watching disasters like ‘Dil Bole Hadippa,’ and ‘What’s your Rashee?’ I couldn’t help but open a CD pack which I had bought a year ago and stacked away in a corner.
To my surprise, the 1954 made black and white, “Boot Polish” was able to do what none of the recent releases could. It made me laugh, cry and hope with the characters. If a movie can carry you along and make you feel with the characters, I consider it good entertainment.
It’s a story of street kids Bhola (Ratan Kumar) and Belu (Baby Naaz) who beg at a railway station in Mumbai. They later turn to earning money by polishing shoes. But when no one wants to shine their shoes during the rains, hunger beckons them again. A police raid separates the siblings. Life changes when one of the kids is adopted by a couple.
The story may sound gloomy, but the little joys of life are well depicted in the film. The kids save up money from their cruel aunt so that they can buy a brush and polish. When another boot black tries to steal their money from their hiding and escapes, you expect dismay once again. But the younger Belu has already hidden away the money. No, hiding away from the begging earning which they have to give to their aunt isn’t enough. So fool a friendly bootlegger John Chacha (David) for the remaining money. John doesn’t mind, for it is he who inspires them to take up a respectful life.
The excitement that one has when you take up a new job is also very real. The brush and the polish are given a respectable place at the altar at John Chacha’s shack. The kids dream of the many things that they will do when they earn from polishing shoes. Isn’t it the same feeling that we all had while joining our first job?
With their first earnings, the each wants to buy a dress for another. The same love is seen in times of hunger when there is just one piece of bread.
The heartless Kamala chachi (Chand Burque) who makes them beg and beats them throughout the film is also not painted entirely black. At the beginning when the children are left at her doorstep she recalls how their parents are thrown her out of their house when her husband died. Being a sex worker, she couldn’t afford to feed and bring up the kids with her earning. So, they had to earn their own food by begging. This is definitely cruel, but poverty isn’t kind.
Fate changes the course of their lives. A police raid at the railway station separates the kids. While Belu is adopted by a rich couple, Bhola reaches an orphanage. Bhola escapes from the orphanage and the kids pine for each other. They are reunited by chance to live with their new parents.
The music by Shankar Jaikishan has given us songs like “Nanhe munhe bachche teri mutti mein kya hai,” which are sung even now. Produced by Raj Kapoor, directed by Prakash Arora and written by Bhanu Pratap, I consider it one of the best films I have seen.
The film won the Best Film award at the 1954 Fimfare awards. The director Prakash Arora was nominated for the Golden Palm award and Baby Naaz won a special mention for a child actor at the 1955 Cannes Film festival.
Rakhta Charitra is the prestigious movie from Ram Gopal Varma. This film is based on Andhra Pradesh politician Paritala Ravi’s life history. Vivek Oberoi and Tamil star hero Surya ( Ghajini fame) are playing lead roles in this film.
South Indian top music director Mani Sharma is going to made his Bollywood debut with this film. Mani has composed many chart busters in Telugu and Tamil. He is very famous for powerful back ground musics.
A.R.Rahman who was introduced by Ram Gopal Varma to Bollywood, became an international music director today. All the best to Mani Sharma also.
Izzat (1968) stars Dharmendra in a double role playing brothers who don’t know they’re brothers until late in life. One is rich, the other poor; one dark, the other fair; one a land owner’s privileged son, the other an illegitimate hard working student who’s just been orphaned. There are no illegitimate children, only illegitimate parents!..doesn’t Amitabh or SRK scream that out in some film, maybe it’s Amitabh in Lawaaris? Tell me if you know. Fate brings the Dharmendrai together and wacky misunderstandings occur and vendettas are settled. Here’s a plot summary courtesy of the prolific rAjOo, but skip it if you don’t want spoilers.
After completing his college, dark-skinned Adivasi Shekhar returns home and finds that his mother, Savli, has passed away. Distraught, he is consoled by Father Abraham, who also tells him that his mother had an affair with wealthy Ramgarh-based Thakur Pratap Singh, who refused to marry her even after she became pregnant. Shekhar decides to avenge his humiliation and sets forth to expose Pratap. Upon arrival in Ramgarh, he finds that he has a fair-skinned look-alike half-brother, Dilip, as well as a sister, Neelu. Dilip meets him, hires him as an office staff person, and asks him to impersonate him in order to meet Deepa, the only daughter of wealthy Vinodbabu, and Shekhar agrees to do so. Shekhar meets Deepa and both are attracted to each other. Shekhar decides to tell her the truth about himself, and returns to Ramgarh. Once there, he finds history repeating itself as Dilip is in love with an Adivasi belle, Jhumki, but is refusing to marry her. Written by rAjOo (IMDB)
At the beginning of the film Shekhar who I will refer to as dark Dharmendra, since in the film they make a big deal about this dark skin, finds out about his mother’s tragic past, and his parentage. That Thakur (Balraj Sahni) kaminey found his dark skinned, low caste villager good enough to sleep with, but once she was with child, he coldly accuses her of wanting his lakhs. Thakur is wrong, all she wants is his love, and ek chutki sindoor and blessings of the goddess.
"Ek chutki sindoor!"
So Shekhar works himself into the fancy home of his father and finds that he’s got a fairer skinned half brother.
Shekhar’s got some killing on his mind, but he also finds himself at a party. What to do? Dharmendra sings at the party, as Shekhar and they all think he’s his look alike rich brother, Dilip. Please take note of the bollywood balloons that decorate the party:
I suppose I should have been excited by Dharmendra and Tanuja’s performances here (yawn), but for me this was Jayalalitha’s film. It was the first time I’d ever seen her. She plays a super spunky mountain girl, who likes that fancy Dharmendra character, fair-skinned Dilip, but he’s socially out of her reach, being wrong caste for her to desire, let alone acquire. She can’t possibly marry up…or can she? Take a good look at her, I think she can:
The live wire Jayalalitha of Izzat transformed herself into a real life politician. It was the first time I’d seen her in a movie, and she was a Tamil star, so her part in a Hindi film was not the norm. She also did some playback singing.
Prior to her venture into politics, she had a successful career in the Tamil film industry as an actress. She acted in the English language movie “Epistle” released in 1961 produced by Shankar Giri, son of former president of India Dr. V.V. Giri. Chinnada Gombe, her first film (in Kannada) was a major hit. Her first Telugufilm Manushulu Mamathalu made her famous. In 1972, she was honoured by the Tamil Nadu government with the award Kalaimamani. She has acted opposite Dharmendra in the Hindi Movie named Izzat. Her last film was Nadhiyai Thedi Vandha Kadal in the year 1980. (source)
Now that I know she’s an over achiever, I’m a bit suspicious of her, but after her performance in Izzat, I’d vote for her, no problem. On a side note, I would be an extremely reckless voter in India, for that very reason. “Jaylalitha is on the ballot!? She was soooo cute in Izzat, and what a dancer!” I’d check that ballot, not even caring about her politics simply because she was so cute in that film. Good thing I can’t vote in India. In her role as Jhulki, she’s fearless, not afraid to love:
She’s not afraid to defend herself against a dirtball goonda/thug/dacoit. This scoundrel has lusted after her and when he tries to forcefully move in, she delivers a tight slap to the face! Go girl!
I wasn’t able to find a version of the item number featuring Jayalalitha dancing with about 30 other women to the music Laxmikant Pyarelal and a lavish set, but I did find it as part of a set clips of the full movie uploaded on youtube. Now THIS is what I call an item number:
The beginning part of this number, which is not in the above clip can be seen about 8 1/2 minutes into this link. This number was so lavish that I needed to screen cap some of it for the world to see. Look how fantastic Jayalalithaa looks here.
Eventually that nasty Thakur gets his just rewards. It was only a matter of time before karma catches up with him.
Well, tribals will be tribals, so easily incited and ready to light a torch for justice.
Though she had a small part, I was very taken with Laxmi Chhaya’s performance as a servant. She’s a real mess here, but very hot, so I suppose she’s a hot mess. I just love the colors here, from the walls to her sari, to her make up. Fantastic!
And as a nice touch, there was a cute little statue of Jesus, in front of some stylin’ flagstone. I like my Jesus with flagstone, sort of how I like my coffee with mile and sugar. Now I’ve got to see more of Jayalalitha, so looks like there will have to be some more Tamil, Telegu and Kannada films are in my future.

Well I’m up way to late for a school night and it’s all Sonu Nigam’s fault! Sonu Nigam’s concert in Minneapolis this evening was very enjoyable and I am still so thrilled from the show that I can’t sleep and want to hear him sing some more. I played the part of the gori extra in the audience. Kya showman! What a heavenly voice! He put on an excellent show and was very jokey jokey. Sorry I don’t have a set list from the show, but here are a couple of the numbers he did:
“Mere Haath Main“ from Fanaa:
And a little something from Om Shanti Om, “Main Agar Kahoon”
He teased the crowd with Jodhaa Akbar’s “In Lamho Ke Daaman Mein,” but only did a few bars from the song. I wanted to hear it all, so here it is:
After seeing Sonu bhai’s performance, this clip doesn’t seem quite that crazy:
I mean it is crazy, but I can sort of excuse her, after all, I’m up late writing this post aren’t I?

PLOT: Vinay, an ordinary young man who finds himself constantly mistaken for a look-alike jewel thief named Amar. Vinay lives with his father, a Police Commissioner, and his mom in Bombay. Vinay’s dad is quite upset with him as he has not learnt any skills, and spends all his time examining stones and jewellery. The city is being held to ransom by a daring jewel thief, who continues to baffle them to no end. They do get a pleasant surprise when they find out that he has secured employment with a leading jeweler by the name of Vishamber Nath. Vinay also gets to meet Nath’s attractive daughter, Anju, and there is romance budding in the air. This is short lived when several people greet Vinay as “Amar” or “Prince Amar”. Things come to a boil when a young woman named Shalini comes forward and claims that Vinay is her fiancée. Vinay is able to prove to them that he is indeed Vinay, and cooperates with them to locate this elusive Amar – only to find himself embroiled in a devious scheme – that robs him of his sanity – makes lose his memory, identity, and makes him a target of every policeman in India and Nepal.

Wanted is almost certain to emerge first blockbuster of 2009 and is definitely the biggest hit of 2009. The first week nett collections seem to be in 36 crore region with the distributor share being a huge 23 crore plus which is similar to what Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi did and higher than what Love Aaj Kal did. The single screen business has been phenomenal and is strong going into second week.
Overall the film looks likely to be amongst the top ten theatrical revenue earners ever in India. The lifetime share may well be close to 40 crore which will put it up there with Krissh and Om Shanti Om and ahead of films like Welcome, Raja Hindustani, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
Dil Bole Hadippa which created huge hype before release, bombed at the Box Office. Rani Mukerji’s different get up and Bikini also failed to attract audience. Director Anurag Singh is responsible for this movie failure completely.
Shahid Kapoor who was on Cloud Nine with Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey disappointed with Dil Bole Hadippa failure. He has lot of hopes pre release of this Yash Raj Films movie. Sherlyn Chopra and Rakhi Sawant who expected a break with this movie also went to depression.
Shankar has given an interview to a Tamil daily where he has said: “ Endhiran is beyond imagination, with much grandeur and richness. You can see the effort which is to be taken for 10 films in this one film. Rajni is such an amazing hero. Just words can’t describe his efforts.”
On Rajini’s look in the film, Shankar says “Sivaji was just a sample of how young the star can look. In Endhiran he will look even
younger. For his make up things, we went to America and searched in many places but nothing came right. Then we tried in India and it worked out perfectly for the character he plays. Normally make-up, Kamal will only take efforts for make up is the public opinion. But in this film Rajni has taken amazing efforts as he waited patiently for two three hours to put up the make-up.” On Aiswarya Rai- Rajinikanth screen combination, Shankar says: “There was terrific chemistry between them, as she plays a medical student. Shankar added that the film has “never before seen special effects and graphics.” They have used a technique called “Animatronics” the use of electronics and robotics in mechanised puppets (Robos) to make them appear to be alive.

India has been defined as a ‘Country of Caravans”. The country has seen the arrival of diverse groups, races and religious communities from the very beginning. Aborigines, Aryans, Chinese, Mediterranean, Nordics, Mongols and Europeans came here and merged in the great Indian nation. India is the only country of the world where you will experience such a diverse kind of amalgamation of the people.
There are 4 races in India.
1) Australoids
2) Dravidians(Caucasoids)
3) Mongoloids
4) Indo Aryans(Caucasoids)
1) Australoids
The Australoid race is very closely related to Australian aborigines and melanesians. They were the first waves of people who migrated to India 20,000 yrs ago. Presently, In India, the dalits(untouchables), low caste people and the hill tribes of India are descendants of australoid people. Australoid people also form the slum population of India. They are people with wavy hair lavishly distributed all over their dark bodies, long headed with low foreheads, noses with low and broad roots, thick jaws, large palates and teeth and small chins. The Austrics of India represent a race of medium height, dark complexion with long heads and rather broad noses but otherwise of regular features. Australoids have never been mixed with other races in India because they were low caste and thus were considered inferior and unattractive by Dravidians, Indo Aryans and Mongoloids of India. Australoids are mainly seen in the Southern hill tribes of India and are also seen in the slums in Mumbai. They are also seen in Tamilnadu and Kerala mainly in the villages as a minority. Australoids are a minority in India and they form only 25% of the Indian population. Australoids are widely discriminated in India and they are treated very poorly in India.
Some pics of Australoids in India:
2) Dravidians aka Mediterraneans.
The second group of immigrants who migrated to India were the Dravidians aka the Mediterranean people. They migrated to India from Eastern Mediterranean regions like Syria, Jordan etc. Dravidians form the majority of the population in South India. They range from pale to golden brown skin with straight shiny black hair, very large eyes, thin lips, oval shaped faces, considerable body hair and pointy prominent noses. Dravidians are classified as Mediterranean caucasians. Dravidians were the founders of city civilization of the Indus valley. Dravidians are an ancient form of the Mediterranean race. Anthropologists describe Dravidians as the ‘Mother of the Mediterranean race’.
Some pics of Dravidians:
Famous Indian actress and model Aishwarya Rai is a dravidian:
3) Mongoloids
These people are found in the North eastern part of India in the states of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Tripura. They are also found in Northern parts of West Bengal, Sikkim, and Ladakh. Generally they are people with yellow complexion, oblique eyes, high cheekbones, flat noses, sparse hair and medium height. Mongoloids migrated to India from China 8,000 yrs ago. Mongoloids form only 3% of the Indian population.
Pics of Mongoloids in India:
4) Indo Aryans(Nordics)
This group were the last one to immigrate to India. They migrated to India from Southern Russia thousands of years ago. They form almost all of the population of North India and Central India. Central Indians(Gujaratis) are heavily aryans wih a little mix of dravidian. Indo aryans usually have pale skin, straight/wavy black/brown hair, dark eyes(sometimes colored eyes), thin noses, long faces with well marked chins and hairy bodies. There are really tan/dark skinned Indo aryans too. Indo aryans are classified as Nordic caucasians. Some of these Indo aryans are mixed with Dravidians. Indo aryans are also seen in large numbers in Northern Europe in the form of blonde hair and blue/green eyes. Indo aryans in India are a dark haired dark eyed version of the Indo aryans seen in Northern Europe.

In short,
Most Indians(72%) are caucasians(either Nordic or Mediterranean or a mix of both), 25% of Indians(tribal people, slums and dalits) are australoids and 3% of Indians are mongoloid.

In what is probably the mother of all casting coups in Bollywood, SRK and Aamir might come together soon in a movie that has at its helm none other than Danny Boyle and Anurag Kashyap. News is that both the Khans have been approached by Anurag Kashyap to work in his next project, ‘Bombay Velvet’. Anurag is known for being a director with very high artistic integrity, his recent claims to fame being ‘Dev D’ and ‘Gulaal’. Danny Boyle of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fame is said to be producing this venture- now we know what those talks with Aamir Khan was all about! . SRK and Aamir, as all of us would know, have a long history of bitter face-offs and cold wars and grudging public acknowledgements of each other’s star power. The media has thrived on the Khan wars, and if this casting miracle is true, we’re waiting for the mayhem this will unleash on television, in print and online!
King Khan Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan are going to appear in a movie. Danny Boyle who has directed Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire, is going to produce this movie . He announced this project with the name Bombay Velvet.
He has already approached Aamir Khan. According to the sources this movie has three parts. In the third part Aamir Khan will appear and in the second part will act in the lead role. Danny is interest to rope Shahrukh Khan for the lead role in first part, but not yet confirmed this.Anurag Kashyap is the director to this prestigious flick.
Shahrukh Khan who is busy with Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan and some other projects.
Some pre-release publicity for the book in The Sunday Mid-day that was featured in both Bombay and Bangalore. To read it, click here
The interview was done at my publisher’s request. I was not completely happy with the outcome as it calls the book a biography, which it isn’t. Secondly, it also requests comments from Aamir’s office before I was ready for it.
But I guess it does give my book some pre-release media publicity, and all of this is a part of the game. As they say, winners never quit and quiters never win. So I am pressing on.
If you know me for more than a day, you already know that, i don’t watch bollywood movies or for that matter i don’t like them at all but there are always some exceptions. And today one more exception got added to my bollywood movie list.
Guess what??
Of course – Yeh Mera India (thats why i named this post so)
Now, i am not going to write a review or do some plot analysis as its 3:42 in night. But no matter what time it is,I had to tell you guys that this movie is a MUST WATCH. After seeing this movie, i got this feeling, that i must tell you about this movie.
One big reason, i liked this movie, is that it had happy ending (oh yes, i do like happy ending).(this may see silly but thats how it works with me.)
Now what are you waiting for! turn off the computer, gather some friends (no problem if you are alone) and go out to some near-by cinema or multiplex.
“A few months ago my bone marrow started sending me messages.
The signals: I was always exhausted, pale, drained, and completely depleted of red blood cells. The lack of oxygen made me a serial yawner and spacier than a displaced Czarina. Little did I know, but my hemoglobin had fallen to levels where even a dedicated Blood sucker would turn their thoughts to revival. In between work and travel in India this year, I got a routine blood test and the results sent me to the hospital for a blood transfusion. But not a reason to stop and, like, change my life? The attempt to communicate probably started earlier. Time when I was ‘busy’. Building a career and impersonating myself. Travelling a lot and stock-piling impressions and drama and super hyped destinations and a life in ‘art’. So I couldn’t hear my marrow gently carbonating. Trying to get my attention. Instead of tuning in to my body, I tuned out like a landlocked pirate tuning out the sounds of the sea. And then I stopped travelling and returned to Canada. Got myself tested by Dr Susy Lin, landed in emergency and eventually got full membership into the Cancer Club.
That’s how I found out I have Multiple Myeloma”.
Lisa Ray, actress from Toronto has revealed that she has cancer at the young age of 37. She starred in the critically acclaimed “Water” directed by Deepa Mehta. She broke the news in her blog where she revealed that she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma on June 23 and began chemotherapy the following month. Multiple myeloma is a cancer of antibody-producing white blood cells formed in bone marrow and is treatable, but not curable.
Lisa Ray thought a lot before she decided to share her illness in such a public way. Ultimately she wanted to generate attention for this disease, and raise funds to help. In the process of writing her blog, she bonded with her fans as she shared the sad news with them. She said that she had read each and every comment on her blog and was grateful for all the support coming in from all over the world, especially India. Writing eloquently, she said:
“It’s 6:30 am and I have not slept. That’s another thing about steroids. They make you really hyper. And I blame you India. You have sent me so much love. And advice. So I went through each and every message. Like the good, dutiful half-bengali daughter I am. Except I’m not studying for my medical finals, I’m looking at each and every word you have sent”.
Reading through her blog, I had the following thoughts: Lisa is beautiful in spirit and body, full of courage, and I hope there is a cure for her. The blog also made me think about how important it is to be aware of your true feelings, which tend to hide sometimes, to listen to your body which expresses your mental state even when your mind does not, and to really try to live each moment of our lives to the fullest, as you never know how long you have in this world. It makes me want to call and tell each person I love, how much I love them, to do those things that I have always wanted to but postponed because of a “busy” life, and to live an authentic life, to be “me”.
India is definitely the flavour of the year in Hollywood. After the rage around A.R Rahman, the limelight is back on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. It is reported that Ash is all set to make her second appearance on the celebrated Oprah Winfrey Show, and this time, hubby Abhishek will be present on the show as well.
After her first appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in Feb 2007, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is once again set to appear on Oprah Winfrey. But this time however, hubby Abhishek Bachchan is also invited to join her on the show. The show is one of the prestigious shows and big celebrities appearing on it.
Last time she won over Oprah with a sari. Oprah had enthusiastically volunteered to be draped in the pink sari, which she found sensuous. We wonder if Aishwarya will remember it and wear a sensuous drape to her show this time. Ash has been the first Indian to appear on such shows, like the Late Show with David Letterman, and was the first Bollywood personality to appear on Oprah’s ‘Women Across the Globe’ segment where she had spoken about her love for her home and the importance of family. But this time, she is expected to talk about family values and a little about her married life.Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have apparently agreed to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show. The married couple, who are currently shooting Mani Ratnam’s Raavana together, will share the screen with the famous talkshow host in a Los Angeles studio.
The next season of “Oprah” premieres on September 14. Don’t miss Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and hubby Abhishek Bachchan’s interview!:)
Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia was born on September 9, 1967 in Amritsar. In case you are wondering who this guy is, then I better tell you that Bollywood is not your cup of tea. The person in concern is none other than Akshay Kumar, fondly known as Akki. He was born and brought up in a Punjabi family with his father working in the Government sector.
As like his film from “Chandni Chowk to China“, he was indeed raised in the Chandni Chowk area of Delhi. From his childhood itself, he excelled in performing arts, especially in dancing. He studied in Don Bosco School in Mumbai, and for higher education he went to Khalsa College.
Then came his life in Bangkok, where he worked as a chef and also took an interest in martial arts. After learning the art, he returned back to Mumbai, and started teaching martial arts.
Seeing his good looks, one of his students offered him a modeling assignment. After spending two months in the modeling industry, he got an offer by producer Pramod Chakravarthy for Deedar.
